What we often see
Driveways in Gympie take a massive hiding. The hot, baking Queensland sun heats the concrete all day before heavy delivery trucks and family cars roll over the surface to create ugly tyre tracks. Sometimes hairline cracks appear. These small gaps slowly fill with dirt and weeds.
What may help
We grind out oil. After repairing any minor cracks, we apply protective decorative sealers or hard-wearing resurfacing coats to ensure the final finish is stronger than the original concrete. This completely covers those old blemishes.
Worth considering
Vehicle weight is the main challenge because cars turning their wheels on hot days can easily tear weak, poorly bonded coatings right off the raw slab surface. A driveway finish must hold tight. We also add a textured, non-slip profile to stop vehicles sliding when wet.
It is much cheaper. By saving the concrete you already have, you completely avoid the massive cost of hiring heavy machinery to excavate and cart away the old broken slab. We work on top of the slab.
