Slippery Concrete
It looks normal. The concrete may look perfectly smooth and shiny, but it becomes incredibly slick and dangerous as soon as a light shower of rain hits the surface.

Common causes
- A smooth troweled finish that was never given a non-slip texture
- Sealer applied without a slip-resistant grit additive on slopes
- Build-up of invisible algae or mould in damp, shaded walkways
- Smooth stencilled or painted finishes wearing smooth over the years
What it may mean
The slab is structurally fine. However, a slippery path or driveway is a severe safety hazard that increases the risk of falls and serious injuries for anyone walking on your property.
What Atlas may do
We clean the slab. We can pressure clean any mould away and apply a fresh sealer coat mixed with coarse non-slip aggregate, or we can use light acid etching on smooth concrete to create texture.
When to get it checked
Get an assessment if your sloped driveway or pool surround becomes slick when wet, so we can check the slip resistance.

We fix them properly. We use a specialized grinder to open up the crack and clear the dust before injecting high-strength epoxy resin or polymer fillers deep into the structural gap. Our repairs hold tight.
